O Kitty Boy, blessed is he

light shine from thy glowing eyes, reflecting infinite energy and wisdom.

LOL.

I love kitty boy. I basically worship him, as does the rest of my family. About 4 years ago, when my little sister was 6..my mom told her she could have a pet for her b-day. My family went to Petsmart (or something like that) to adopt a kitten, and there was the most vocal, exuberant jet-black cat we had ever met, that consistantly meowed directly to us for our attention. My mom, concerned that my sister might decide too quickly, tried to show her the other kittens and the ones with big, pretty eyes and colorful fur. Despite the other adorable kittens my sister had seen-she had chosen the black kitten, and only him. On the way home, she had decided to name him "Kitty Boy". For such a simple name, you wouldn't expect it to belong to quite an odd and special cat. He's the type that falls asleep with all four paws in the air. The type that nudges open the door and finds a way into the pantry when he's hungry. You can pick him up, kiss him on the head, and get a Harley purr in response. Anyway, here. You may experience his awesome.

(I'm sure you have a likewise awesome pet of your own, or you might have clicked the [back] button after the first sentence ^_^)

This is my kitten, Ziva.

This pic was taken a week or so after taking this kitten home from another family who could not keep her. We adopted Ziva sometime in the beginning of winter, 2009. She and I have grown very close, and she has one of the sweetest, most loving personalities...but she is of course, a feline hunter. She has her moments of spazzing out and attacking the furniture, coupled by the restless need to be outside. When she's outside, the trees are her haven. I have seen her climb to the tippy-top and I think to myself "I'm going to have to call the fire dept." but she somehow manages to leap to safety every time. This reinforces the name given to her by one of my favorite characters on the t.v. show NCIS. Bad-ass skillz, with a sweet, soft side. Wow--I just realized I'm a crazy cat lady (minus the crazy part...I hope).

And this was her initial reation to meeting our dog, Koot-

Ghosts.

Ghosts.

Some believe they exist, others see no physical evidence...or simply believe it to be nonsense. Personally, I have never seen one [ghost] but would love to. Well, maybe "love" isn't the right word (I'd be scared out of my wits!), but at least I'd be able to believe that we may have a metaphysical part of us that continues on after death. I would like to think that there is indeed an afterlife, or a spiritual existance within us all. Alas, I am a new-found skeptic. Simply accepting something of that magnitude through an unconformed belief system/other (like religion) without having a personal experience, or evidence, would be silly to me.

As you probably know; working in metaphysical studies (such as a paranormal investigator) has become a pretty popular topic, if you have cable you probably have seen some shows with group investigators, who visit "haunted places". To name a few: Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters, Most Haunted, etc.

In my opinion, Most Haunted is B.S.

Though, I'm a fan of Ghost Adventures (GH is alright too), mainly because I find the show to be authentic, or rather; as authentic as a ghost show can get when you include the "scary music, visual effects, etc...the ACTUAL investigation seems legitimate.

(if you would like to tell me why you believe it is a fake show, don't hesitate to comment people)

Anyway, I would like to show you one instance of a GAC (ghost adventures crew) moment, that leads me to belive they're not faking their filming.
Recorded at the Linda Vista Hospital. If you ignore the recordings, and everything else you scrutinize, at least look at the video around 2:50

When you see Nick's reaction, it seems to be a genuine fear provoked by something. He was alone in that corner, and saw something to make him respond the way he did. If you care to give some credit to the equiptment they're using, Zack explains that both Aaron and Nick's camera froze right before he saw the apparition. Of course, this might not be the most convincing evidence for anyone..but it is just one of many experiences these guys have had that leads me to believe they're honest investigators.

Books, TV shows, personal accounts...there are many sources of information about ghosts. I believe some, if not most of them to be false, produced just for our entertainment, or misleading. But one bad apple shouldn't spoil the whole bunch. I believe there are honest and hard-working individuals in the field of paranormal studies, who have tried to capture or have captured evidence of spiritual beings, ghosts, apparitions...whatever you wish to call it. I think we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the idea of ghosts being part of a scam or joke, and instead take a close look and do some personal investigations.

Tonight.

It's about 9 pm here in my cozy house. I have two kittens here on the desk. Ziva and Zuko. Zuko is currently sleeping on the top of the monitor (he's attracted to heat) and Ziva is at work chasing the cursor on the screen. I hear the washer going in the background. It's been very chilly outside, and the temperature is hanging around 40 degrees F . I'm wondering about the future. As a 17 year old individual, I'm worried about some things you might expect an American or any other teen to think about (and no, it's not the Jonas brothers or anything relating O_O). That is; freedom and independence. Equipped with my GED and fully motivated to continue school, I'm enrolling in a local community college this January. I have no idea what courses I wish to study, or what career path to follow. But, I'll bore you with that later. Basically , I've been on vacation for a while and though that may sound nice for some...after some time (especially if you're an able-bodied and motivated teenager like me) it becomes a pain in the arse. I realize that I have a home to live in, a family that I love...and some luxuries that others might not have. I am not trying to shove this in anyones face, so if you already don't like my lame problems-that's understandable.

Anyway.

Here's a bit about me (to get the bullshit out of the way):

Name: Alyssa

Sex: F

Orientation: Personal/Not sure.

Religion: Non-religious/Agnostic

Political view: Fairly Liberal

Favorite Food: Chocolate, pickles, garlic-stuffed olives, fruit, vegetables...the whole damn pyramid minus the unhealthy stuff, lol.

Favorite color: Blue and green.

Eye color: Brown

Hair color: Golden brown, when I'm baked (:

Outlook: It varies, just like anyone else..and the weather. Mostly, an Idealist and peace-seeker..with an open mind. Because, after all...you'll have to have an open mind to tolerate someone who's different than the typical/normal (does "normal" even exist? just a relative term?) American Terneejur.

Favorite people: anyone who has contributed to society in a positive way. People who have given a part of themselves to someone just for the sake of doing something good. Innocent people. I'm sure there's more...

Favorite music: I love a variety of music. Favorite band will always be Metallica ;o). I enjoy Hard rock, hard style, techno, dance, top 20/popular music, Portishead, Astral Projection, Lady Gaga, Incubus, Disturbed, Blondie, Green Day, 3 doors down, Evanesence, Seether...actually, too many to type.

Downfalls: I can be selfish, impatient, and stubborn. Working on it.

Talents: It's definitely not sticking my mind to one subject. Well, I like to think I'm a good sketch artist, and a talented walker. I also feel that I can understand a persons want's and desires..once I get to know them.

This is my first blog, but certainly (unless something happens) not the last. I hope to bring more info about random things, ranging from current events to astral projection to True Blood controversies (sorry twighlight fans ;o)) and last but not a beast, boring info on my life. *Kiss* Peace. Love. And Chocolate.
